Tyner Kicks-Off Gubernatorial Campaign in Canton •
Canton-Republican Candidate for Governor Mitch Tyner began his campaign
kick off in his hometown of Canton, Mississippi. Mayor Esco of Canton
formally introduced Tyner after Pastor Jerry Dillon of Parkway Pentecostal
Church gave an invocation. Tyner drew quite a crowd in Canton’s
new multi-purpose building. “I did not come home to Mississippi
to run for office of the Governor, I am home.” Tyner stated to
the crowd. “Mississippi deserves EXCELLENCE in leadership and
a Governor who will be sold out to Mississippi and it’s citizens
not one who is sold out to special interest groups.” Tyner is
promoting a campaign based on conservative family values and investing
in the success of the educational system through accountability. Tyner
is adamant in ending frivolous lawsuits and will be promoting a “three
strikes” policy. Attorneys who file three frivolous lawsuits would
lose their license to practice. Tyner understands that he is in a David
and Goliath battle in this primary race but affirms “If I am David
against a big giant, according to the outcome of the story I should
do all right.”
